Watch UNICEF’s Powerful Video To End Child Marriage

John and Lilly’s marriage seems to be spectacular as any other. The celebration was loaded with roses, ribbons, and lovely decor. John’s and Lilly’s families were also there. On the surface, it seemed like some thing beyond a storybook. But the tragic reality about Lilly – an 11-year-old girl – is true for the very real Fifteen million young girls who are wedded every year. Bridal Musings and UNICEF have collaborated on this powerful video to present the disasters of little girl marriage. These young girls are treated as like property than human beings. Child wedding occurs everywhere, but together we will stop it.

According to Bridal Musings and UNICEF: “The sad truth is that a girl who is married as a child is more likely to be out of school, experience domestic violence, and become infected with HIV/AIDS. She is more likely to have children when she herself is still a child, and is far more likely to die due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth.”

In this video, Lilly, who’d often be in junior high school, marries 35-year-old John. See as her family looks on complicity on the living misfortune. They don’t do anything to  stop it; in fact, they support move the plan right along.

This is not  only a video, it’s a call to action. Kindly SHARE this strong message along with your friends and family on Facebook to pass on awareness and set a stop to children marriage!
